The owners of a 70's ranch style home wanted to dress up their home and add value. Using a sunny "Navajo" color in the Great Room, and a softer "Sahara" in the dining room and living room, they created a good contrast for the addition of mouldings throughout the house. This color combination creates a sunny and relaxed atmosphere.

We photographed the house after it was painted and before the molding was installed for "before" and "after" photos to show the improved look created with just moulding. Click AFTER images to enlarge.

Hallway features raised panel doors, frames, crown moulding and baseboard contrasting with wood floors.Entry into great room transition from soft maize colors to stronger sunny gold.

The secret to the success of this charming home is understatement and good use of details. Using the same color throughout the public areas of the house creates a serene and cheerful impression; the crown moulding and baseboards, with just a little emphasis with the cornices, is just enough to dress up the house without overpowering it.
