Moulding
Masters recommends that owners install their choice of
moulding in the public areas of the home first, using one
size and style throughout. The question arises of how to
handle the smaller rooms, especially if the moulding is a
large size. Many owners are concerned the large crown in
a small room will make the room look smaller. The look of large scale crown in a small room is very successful as you will see in this video - the small room looks fine and the consistent scale of crown provides a smooth transition from the large room to the small. If you put smaller crown in this room, it would make this transition awkward and interrupt the flow of the crown. Mark also suggests that the crown actually lifts the smaller room, giving emphasis to the ceiling height rather than floor size. |
